My client, a well-established, multi-office Yorkshire law firm is seeking a Probate Solicitor to join its York office.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves managing a varied private client caseload, including Wills, Powers of Attorney and Probate matters, from initial instruction through to completion. You will handle new client enquiries, support other fee earners within the department, and take responsibility for cost drafting, billing and general file management, while maintaining up-to-date legal knowledge.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will provide a high standard of professional and friendly client care, working accurately and efficiently in line with established procedures. You will be able to communicate complex legal issues clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally, and demonstrate strong organisational skills, attention to detail and confident IT ability. The role requires someone who can manage competing deadlines, work well under pressure, and operate both independently and as part of a team.
A flexible, proactive approach is required, including a willingness to travel to nearby offices when needed. A full UK driving licence is essential.
The role would suit a candidate with around three or more years’ experience in Wills and Probate, although applications are welcomed from candidates at all levels of post-qualification experience, including newly qualified solicitors with relevant experience.
