Description

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Energy Solicitor, or a Commercial / Regulatory Solicitor with strong exposure to the energy sector, to join a highly respected international law firm. This is a chance to become part of a market-leading Energy team working on some of the most significant and high-profile projects in the UK and beyond.

The firm’s Energy team advises across a broad range of regional and national projects, including:

  • Utility-scale solar, onshore wind, and battery storage developments
  • Combined generation and storage schemes
  • Large-scale public and private renewable projects
  • Bespoke clean energy and infrastructure initiatives

You’ll advise clients on the commercial and regulatory aspects of energy work, including:

  • Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and other route-to-market contracts
  • Grid connections and procurement
  • Regulatory frameworks and compliance
  • Operational and energy services agreements
  • Corporate support for clean energy and infrastructure investments

You’ll also have scope to get involved in wider commercial work within the energy sector, supporting a diverse client base of developers, investors, and utilities.

This role will suit Senior Associate or Legal Director level Lawyers who can demonstrate the following:

  • A solid understanding of energy law, regulatory frameworks, and commercial contracts (including PPAs, grid connections, and route-to-market arrangements)
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance in the energy and renewables space
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively
  • A proactive, commercial mindset and ambition to help develop the team’s offering

This firm offers fantastic flexibility and scope to work across their regional offices in the UK, as well as a generous hybrid policy of 2 days in the office per week.

  • Salary in the region of £90,000 – £120,000, depending on experience
  • A steady flow of quality work from an established client base
  • Significant growth opportunities, with the potential to take a leading role in the firm’s corporate/commercial energy offering
  • The chance to work within a dynamic, international environment that actively invests in the renewable energy sector

The Energy team has experienced a marked increase in workload over the past 12–18 months, driven by growth in the renewables market and the UK’s clean energy commitments making this an excellent time to join.
