Senior Associate – Construction Professional Indemnity | Newcastle upon Tyne

We are currently working on an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate to join a highly regarded Construction Professional Indemnity team based in Newcastle.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced construction disputes lawyer to join a leading national insurance practice undertaking complex, high-value work while remaining firmly rooted in the North East market.

The Newcastle team works collaboratively as part of a wider national practice and acts for many of the UK and global market-leading insurers on some of the most interesting and technically challenging construction disputes currently in the market.

The role will involve:

  • Managing a varied caseload of construction professional indemnity matters
  • Advising insurers on policy coverage issues
  • Handling both pre-action and litigated disputes
  • Acting on claims involving architects, engineers, contractors, project managers and other construction professionals
  • Working closely with experts and Counsel
  • Supporting Partners on large and complex matters
  • Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
  • Building and maintaining strong insurer and client relationships

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have circa 6+ years PQE
  • Have strong experience within construction professional indemnity or complex construction disputes
  • Be confident managing their own caseload independently
  • Have strong communication and client relationship skills
  • Be commercially minded and collaborative in their approach
