Description

If you're an experienced Rural Property Solicitor looking to work on some of the most interesting and high-profile rural matters in Scotland, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

My client is a leading Legal 500 private practice with an outstanding reputation across Scotland. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior Solicitor or Associate to join their highly regarded Rural Property team in Aberdeen.

This is a genuinely varied role offering exposure to a broad range of rural property and land management matters. You'll advise estate owners, farmers, rural businesses, investors and landowners on the purchase and sale of estates, farms, forestry and other rural land, whilst also supporting clients with rural development projects including residential developments, renewable energy schemes, telecommunications agreements and quarrying matters.

You'll have the opportunity to work on emerging areas of the rural sector, advising clients on Natural Capital opportunities including carbon codes, biodiversity projects and other evolving land use initiatives.

Alongside transactional work, you'll provide ongoing advice to estates and rural businesses on a wide range of matters including land reform, partnership and trustee conveyancing, title conditions and general estate management issues. The role also offers significant exposure to agricultural holdings work, including the creation, variation and termination of agricultural tenancies, fixed equipment obligations and pre-emptive rights to buy.

The successful candidate will also advise on a variety of lease arrangements including agricultural, commercial, residential and sporting leases, together with title-related matters involving both Sasine and Land Registered properties. This includes dealing with boundary disputes, access rights, title conditions and voluntary registration projects involving some of Scotland's most historic and complex landholdings.

There will also be opportunities to work on the purchase, sale, letting and management of sporting interests including salmon fishings, grouse moors and deer forests.

This role would suit a solicitor with strong rural property experience who enjoys building lasting client relationships and providing practical, commercial advice. In return, you'll join a collaborative and supportive team, enjoy access to high-quality work and benefit from genuine long-term career progression opportunities within a firm that continues to invest heavily in its people.

If you'd like to find out more about this opportunity, please contact Deborah Collier at QED Legal for a confidential discussion.
