Description
Are you a commercial property solicitor with around 2–6 years’ PQE who’s starting to look for something that feels like a step forward rather than a sideways move? If Edinburgh is where you want to be, this is a genuinely strong opportunity with a top-tier Legal 500 firm that has earned its reputation through consistently high-quality work and a very sharp commercial edge, particularly in landlord and tenant matters.
The team is busy, well-established and continuing to grow, with a varied workload that spans leasing, asset management and complex lease negotiations. You’ll be trusted with responsibility early on, given real client exposure and the space to develop your own relationships, while working on matters for a high-calibre mix of landlords, tenants and investors. The work is interesting, the standards are high, and there’s a refreshing lack of unnecessary bureaucracy.
You’ll work closely with a highly regarded and approachable partner who is genuinely invested in developing the people around them. They take mentoring seriously, involve juniors properly in quality work and focus on building strong technical skills alongside commercial awareness. It’s the kind of environment where you’re supported, challenged in the right way, and encouraged to grow with confidence.
We’ve worked with this firm for close to twenty years and have seen them navigate every market cycle imaginable. Throughout it all, their approach to people has been consistent: respectful, supportive and fair. They look after their teams, value loyalty and understand that long-term success is built on treating people well. That culture runs through the business and is something candidates repeatedly comment on.
There’s no rigid hierarchy or corporate stiffness here, just a collaborative team that values initiative, common sense and good lawyering. With access to excellent work, clear scope for progression and a culture that genuinely respects work-life balance, this is a role that offers both challenge and sustainability.
