Description
Property Solicitor | Residential Property | Land Acquisition & Disposals
Hull or York | Hybrid Working | NQ – 5 Years PQE | £40,000 – £60,000 DOE
Enjoy property law, but feel like you're seeing the same transaction on repeat?
Perhaps you've built a solid foundation in residential conveyancing but want to work on more technical, higher-value matters. Maybe you've had some exposure to land or development work and realised that's the direction you'd like your career to take.
If so, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
QED Legal's client is looking to appoint a Property Solicitor to join its expanding Yorkshire property team. This is a genuinely varied role, combining high-net-worth residential conveyancing with land acquisitions, disposals and development-related property work. It's an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of property law and wants to broaden their expertise beyond a traditional conveyancing caseload.
Working alongside experienced property specialists, you'll manage your own matters while also supporting on more complex transactions, giving you exposure to a diverse client base that includes private individuals, landowners, developers and investors.
You'll be involved in:
- Managing a caseload of high-value freehold and leasehold sales and purchases.
- Advising on land acquisitions, disposals and development land transactions.
- Drafting and negotiating contracts, transfers and supporting legal documentation.
- Assisting with strategic property and real estate matters as your experience develops.
- Liaising with clients, surveyors, agents and other professional advisers to ensure transactions progress efficiently.
- Delivering clear, commercially focused advice and building long-term client relationships.
To be considered, you'll ideally have:
- Qualified Solicitor (NQ – 5 years PQE).
- Experience in Residential Conveyancing, Property Law or Real Estate.
- Confidence managing your own files from instruction through to completion.
- Excellent drafting, organisational and communication skills.
- A commercial and pragmatic approach to client advice.
- An interest in developing your experience across land acquisitions, development land and higher-value property transactions.
This opportunity would particularly suit a Residential Property Solicitor, Conveyancing Solicitor, Real Estate Solicitor or Property Lawyer looking to move into a broader, more interesting role without losing the client contact and autonomy that comes with running their own matters.
What makes this opportunity stand out is the balance. You'll gain exposure to quality work that many residential property lawyers don't often see, while joining a supportive team that is committed to developing its lawyers over the long term. If you're looking to become a more rounded property solicitor rather than simply process transactions, it's well worth a confidential conversation.
Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 DOE, alongside hybrid working, excellent long-term career prospects and a comprehensive benefits package.
