An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Probate Specialist to join a well-established and highly regarded Private Client team in Huddersfield.
This is an exciting opportunity for a probate professional with strong technical expertise to work on a high-quality caseload of complex, high-value and high-net-worth estates, providing expert advice and exceptional client service throughout the estate administration process.
The Role You will manage a varied caseload of probate and estate administration matters from initial instruction through to final distribution, with particular exposure to complex and high-net-worth estates.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the full estate administration process from instruction through to distribution.
- Dealing with high-value and complex estates involving business interests, agricultural assets, trusts, investments and overseas assets.
- Preparing applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration.
- Advising executors, trustees and beneficiaries.
- Preparing inheritance tax returns and dealing with HMRC.
- Identifying inheritance tax planning opportunities during estate administration.
- Preparing estate accounts and arranging distributions.
- Dealing with contested estates and Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims where appropriate.
- Working closely with accountants, financial advisers, wealth managers, valuers and other professional advisers.
- Building strong relationships with high-net-worth clients and professional referrers.
- Supporting the continued growth and development of the Private Client team.
About You You will have significant experience in probate and estate administration, ideally with a proven track record of managing complex and high-net-worth estates.
You should have:
- Strong technical knowledge of probate, estate administration, inheritance tax and trusts.
- Experience managing a caseload independently from instruction through to completion.
- Excellent client care and communication skills.
- The ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism, empathy and discretion.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- A proactive and commercially minded approach to client service.
You may be a Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive, STEP-qualified practitioner or an experienced probate professional with equivalent experience.
