The Role We are seeking a Legal Secretary to join our Court of Protection (Health & Welfare) team, providing essential administrative support, primarily within the Mental Health area.

This is a key role supporting solicitors and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the department. The position is based in Wakefield, with a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing dedicated administrative support to solicitors on Court of Protection and Mental Health matters
  • Assisting with legal research and drafting documents
  • Liaising with clients and keeping them informed on case progress
  • Managing files, documents, and case information
  • Preparing and formatting legal documentation
  • Coordinating schedules and supporting the daily operation of the department

What You’ll Bring We’re looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or a strong interest in legal work
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
  • A proactive, organised, and professional approach
