Description

This is one for the finance litigators.

If you’re a Senior Associate with six or more years’ PQE, and your experience sits squarely in complex commercial disputes—especially those involving banks, lenders, and financial institutions—then this is likely the opportunity that puts you exactly where you should be.

I’m working with a national firm that’s built a serious reputation in financial services litigation. They’re ranked in the Legal 500 for this work, with a Partner group that’s well known for handling heavyweight, high-stakes cases. This isn’t about supporting bigger teams in London. This is Scotland-led work, on everything from lender claims and fraud investigations to regulatory action, professional negligence, and investor disputes involving big-ticket sums.

The team is growing. They’re busy. And they’re looking to hire someone in Glasgow or Edinburgh who can hit the ground running—managing files, driving strategy, and helping lead relationships with major financial clients, including several of the UK’s top five banks. You won’t be siloed or sat behind a desk. You’ll be central to the team’s operations from day one, trusted to run your own caseload and contribute to complex matters with multiple moving parts.

They’re looking for someone with strong technical litigation experience and a track record in finance-related disputes. That might mean you’ve acted in high-value mis-selling cases, handled secured lending or insolvency litigation, or advised on FCA investigations and regulatory compliance. The key is that you’re confident in the courtroom, comfortable advising institutional clients, and capable of delivering under pressure.

Progression here is real. If you’re currently a Senior Associate who’s been getting vague signals about next steps—or if your current firm is all talk and no follow-through—this is the complete opposite of that. There’s a defined path to Legal Director and Partner, with clear expectations, transparent timeframes, and no empty promises.

Salary is strong. You’ll be paid competitively for the level you’re at, with regular reviews and performance-based progression. There’s also a proper flexible working setup—hybrid model, no facetime culture—and a collaborative team who treat each other like grown-ups.

This is a serious role, with serious work, at a firm that’s investing in the future of its disputes team. If you’ve been waiting for the right move, it’s probably this one.
