The Role
- Support employment lawyers in delivering high-quality, practical legal advice to clients.
- Produce written advice and guidance for day-to-day client queries, identifying opportunities for best advice and solutions-focused outcomes.
- Review and draft employment contracts, handbooks, and policies, identifying areas for improvement and compliance.
- Assist in preparing client documentation, tribunal bundles, and other employment law materials.
- Draft weekly email updates in the firm’s straight-talking, commercial tone, helping keep clients informed about developments in employment law.
- Work with lawyers to onboard new clients efficiently, ensuring they are set up for success from day one.
- Contribute to project-based and retained client support work, developing a broad understanding of how employment law supports business operations.
- Collaborate with clients in sectors such as builders’ merchants and industry suppliers, helping them stay compliant and avoid costly legal issues.
- Report to and receive mentorship from the Head of Legal Team, gaining exposure to real client work and guidance for future career progression.
You
- Hold an LLB, GDL, LPC, or other qualifying law degree
- Have completed an employment law elective or gained relevant practical experience.
- Detail-oriented, organised, and able to work confidently under guidance and initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communicator with a commercial mindset.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to build a career within employment law.
- Team-focused, personable, and passionate about contributing to the success of a growing firm.
