Costs Lawyer – London (City) 1–2 Years' PQE | Full Time | Permanent | Hybrid Working

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified Costs Lawyer to join the established, highly regarded Law Costs Team of a leading City law firm in London.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex, high-value commercial litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution matters, providing specialist costs advice to partners, fee earners and clients.

The Role You will be responsible for:

• Drafting Costs Budgets (Precedent H), Bills of Costs, Points of Dispute and Replies.
• Managing Detailed Assessment proceedings and costs recovery.
• Advising on costs budgeting, management, recoverability and litigation strategy.
• Negotiating costs settlements and preparing Part 36 Offers.
• Supporting complex commercial litigation, insurance, construction and arbitration matters.
• Liaising with partners, clients, counsel and opposing costs representatives.
• Providing technical costs advice and supporting internal training.

About You We are looking for a qualified Costs Lawyer with approximately 1–2 years' PQE who can demonstrate:

• Strong experience in costs budgeting, detailed assessments and costs management.
• Excellent knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and costs law.
• Confident drafting, negotiation and analytical skills.
• Strong organisational skills and commercial awareness.
• The ability to manage a varied caseload and work closely with senior fee earners.

Experience within a City law firm, national practice or specialist costs team would be advantageous, particularly involving commercial litigation or insurance disputes.
