Description
Corporate Legal Director, 5+ PQE, £75,000 to £95,000, Leading Leeds Independent
Plenty of Leeds firms talk up their corporate credentials. One independent has the league tables to back it: the most active corporate dealmaker in the city over the past five years, on transactions worth more than £100m.
The corporate team advises businesses at every stage of growth, from early funding rounds through to complex exits, across M&A, private equity, buyouts, joint ventures, reorganisations and governance. The team is expanding, so this is a genuine addition rather than a backfill.
At Legal Director level you would run significant client relationships and complex deals with minimal partner supervision, so the autonomy is real rather than promised. You are given time to build long term client relationships and your own following, and origination is shared rather than hoarded. The firm also backs its people: every partner promotion in the last three years went to someone who built their career there.
It should suit a Legal Director who wants a serious deals practice and genuine autonomy without the bureaucracy of a larger platform, or a senior associate already operating above their grade and ready to be recognised for it.
