Corporate & Commercial Solicitor | Owner-Managed Businesses | M&A & Commercial Contracts York | Hybrid Working | 3-7 Years PQE | £50,000–£70,000 DOE + Bonus

Corporate law is at its best when you're more than just another transaction lawyer.

If you enjoy building lasting relationships with business owners, becoming a trusted adviser and seeing the commercial impact of your advice, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

QED Legal's client is expanding its Commercial Division and is looking to appoint a Corporate & Commercial Solicitor to support the continued growth of its York office. This is a genuine growth appointment within a well-established regional firm that's investing heavily in its people, technology and specialist legal services.

You'll work closely with ambitious businesses throughout Yorkshire, advising on everything from acquisitions and shareholder matters to commercial contracts and business succession planning. The emphasis is on quality over volume, with clients ranging from owner-managed businesses and family companies through to agricultural enterprises and renewable energy businesses.

Your work will include:

  • Business sales, acquisitions and disposals.
  • Shareholder and partnership agreements.
  • Company restructures and reorganisations.
  • Commercial contracts and terms of business.
  • Joint ventures and business collaborations.
  • Corporate support on commercial property transactions.
  • Advising owner-managed businesses on strategic legal issues.
  • Building trusted relationships with clients and professional referrers.

To be considered, you'll ideally have:

  • Qualified Solicitor with 3-7 years PQE in Corporate, Company Commercial or Commercial Law.
  • Experience managing a varied corporate or commercial caseload.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the confidence to advise business owners directly.
  • A collaborative approach and genuine interest in developing long-term client relationships.
  • Business development experience would be advantageous, although support will be provided.
  • An existing following would be welcomed but is by no means essential.

This opportunity would suit a Corporate Solicitor, Company Commercial Solicitor, Commercial Solicitor, Corporate Associate or Commercial Associate looking to join a firm where relationships, technical quality and collaboration take precedence over billing targets alone.

The business has ambitious plans to expand its York office over the coming years and continues to invest in legal technology, AI and modern ways of working. Lawyers benefit from accessible senior leadership, excellent cross-department collaboration and a team-based bonus structure designed to reward collective success rather than internal competition.

If you're looking for a platform where you can develop your practice, work with quality clients and play a meaningful role in the growth of a respected commercial firm, this is an opportunity worth exploring.

Salary: £50,000–£70,000 DOE, together with hybrid working, a collaborative bonus scheme, private medical insurance, life assurance, office parking and an excellent wider benefits package.

For a confidential discussion or to learn more about the firm behind the opportunity, please contact Eoghan at QED Legal Recruitment Ltd.
