Description
Compliance Manager – Offshore Law Firm with a Global reach
Location: Jersey
Salary: Highly Competitive + Excellent Benefits
We’re working with a fantastic offshore law firm with offices in multiple jurisdictions – Jersey, Cayman, BVI, London, Singapore, and beyond. They’ve built a stellar reputation since the 1930s and are now looking for a Compliance Manager to join their London team and support the Senior Compliance Manager in running the function.
This is a brilliant opportunity if you’ve got solid experience in AML and wider compliance, especially within legal or financial services. It’s a hands-on role with lots of variety – think advisory work, compliance monitoring, training, mentoring, and (if you’re up for it) stepping into some MLCO responsibilities.
The Job?
- Providing practical AML/CFT/CPF advice and guidance to the business and fellow compliance colleagues.
- Leading or supporting internal reviews and monitoring, and ensuring lessons are translated into better controls and training.
- Helping shape and deliver internal AML training – both in content and delivery.
- Supporting and developing junior team members (if you have direct reports), including performance reviews.
- Acting as a key go-to for complex compliance questions.
- Supporting new joiners through their compliance induction.
- Assisting the MLRO with internal SAR investigations.
- Getting involved in ad hoc compliance tasks and firm-wide projects as needed.
- Option to take on MLCO responsibilities, if that aligns with your experience and interests (e.g., monitoring effectiveness of controls and training).
- Contributing to team meetings and helping implement key compliance initiatives across the business.
About you?
- At least 5 years of experience in compliance, ideally in a law firm or similar professional services setting.
- Strong understanding of AML regulations and how they apply in practice.
- Diploma-level qualification in compliance (e.g., ICA Diploma or similar).
- Confident giving guidance to all levels of the business – from junior staff to senior stakeholders.
- Great communicator with strong organisation and time management skills.
- Tech-savvy with solid Microsoft Office skills.
- A team player with the ability to mentor others and juggle multiple priorities.
Why Join?
- Be part of a well-respected, global law firm with a rich heritage and forward-thinking approach.
- Work alongside a genuinely friendly, collaborative compliance team.
- Opportunity to take on senior responsibilities and grow into an MLCO-level role.
- Great culture, modern offices, and a supportive leadership team that invests in your career.
