Description

I am working with a highly regarded and well-established law firm to recruit an experienced Private Family Solicitor to join its growing family law team. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor who enjoys high-quality private family work and is looking to join a firm known for its professionalism, client care and supportive culture.

The firm handles a broad range of privately funded family matters and offers a stable platform for a solicitor who wants to build long-term relationships with clients while working on complex and rewarding cases.

The Opportunity
You will manage your own caseload of private family law matters, including divorce, child arrangements, financial settlements and prenuptial agreements. The role will involve providing clear, practical and sensitive advice to clients, as well as preparing legal documentation, conducting legal research and representing clients at court hearings where required.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients, while ensuring the highest professional and ethical standards are maintained. Staying up to date with developments in family law legislation will be a key part of the role, allowing you to continue to develop your technical expertise.

The Ideal Candidate
This role would suit a qualified solicitor with around three years’ post-qualification experience in private family law, although candidates with slightly more or less experience will be considered. You will have a strong understanding of family law principles, procedures and relevant legislation, together with a proven ability to handle complex matters with professionalism, discretion and empathy.

You will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong client management and negotiation abilities, and the confidence to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team. A demonstrable commitment to client confidentiality and ethical practice is essential, alongside strong organisational and time-management skills.

Rewards & Benefits The firm offers a competitive salary dependent on experience, together with a comprehensive benefits package. This includes a company pension scheme, 33 days’ annual leave inclusive of bank holidays, birthday leave and additional long service leave.

Further benefits include a healthcare cash plan, staff discounts on legal fees, payment of professional membership fees and access to ongoing professional development. Depending on the role, car parking may also be available, alongside an employee referral scheme.

This is a strong opportunity for a family solicitor seeking a long-term role within a respected and people-focused firm.
