Description

I’m working with a fantastic law firm based in Staines-upon-Thames that’s looking for an experienced Senior Care Solicitor to join their team. If you’ve got a strong background in Child Care law and want to take a step into a leadership role, this could be the perfect opportunity!

This isn’t just about handling your own caseload (although you’ll definitely be doing that too), you’ll also be playing a key role in managing and mentoring the team, overseeing caseloads, and driving the department forward. There’s a real focus on departmental development, client relationship-building, and even shaping strategy at a senior level.

What’s the role all about? In this position, you’ll be handling a full range of Child Care cases from start to finish, representing a variety of clients, including:

  • Children, guardians, parents, grandparents, and other family members
  • Supervising junior solicitors and paralegals to ensure they’re on top of their caseloads
  • Taking on your own advocacy where possible
  • Sharing your technical expertise and mentoring the team
  • Playing a big part in growing the department, whether that’s generating new work or strengthening relationships with existing clients
  • Keeping everything on track with high standards for case management and ensuring compliance with legal aid protocols
  • Working closely with the leadership team to help shape departmental strategy and meet key performance targets

Who are they looking for?

  • Someone with solid Child Care experience, ideally with Children Panel membership (or working towards it)
  • A senior solicitor who enjoys mentoring and managing others
  • Commercially minded and interested in helping the department grow
  • Comfortable with advocacy and confident managing your own cases, but also able to step back and lead a team
  • Someone who wants to play a key role in shaping the future of the department and firm

Why this role?

  • Hybrid working options, flexibility that works for you
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Plenty of room for career progression and development
  • A chance to really make an impact at a senior level and shape a department that’s going places
  • A supportive, forward-thinking team culture

If you’re looking for a role where you can balance high-level casework with team leadership, grow the department, and work in a firm that really values its people, this is a fantastic opportunity.
