Description

At 7+ PQE, rural property should probably be about more than running good files.

It should be about building something.

A client base.

A reputation.

A team.

A practice that has some shape around it rather than simply waiting for the next instruction to land.

I’m keen to speak with experienced Rural Property lawyers in Newcastle and the wider North East who are operating at Senior Associate, Legal Director or Partner level and would be interested in taking a more significant role within a growing national platform.

The work has a strong landed estates slant.

Farms.

Agricultural estates.

Country houses.

Tenancies.

Development land.

Succession.

Refinancing.

Estate management.

The sort of work where the property itself is only part of the picture and the real value comes from understanding the family, the business and the long-term plan behind it.

For the right person, this is less about finding another job and more about finding the right platform.

Somewhere you can bring existing relationships with you, deepen those relationships and develop new ones without feeling like every opportunity has to fit inside a narrow local structure.

Somewhere rural property sits alongside private client, tax, planning, disputes and wider commercial expertise.

And somewhere there is scope to play a genuine role in shaping the practice rather than simply slotting into one.

You do not need to arrive with a gigantic following.

But you should be commercially credible, comfortable developing relationships and confident being visible in the market.

Ideally, you will already have a strong grounding in agricultural and rural property work, landed estates or a closely related commercial property practice with meaningful rural exposure.

The more senior you are, the more interested I am in what you have built around the technical work.

Your clients.

Your network.

Your reputation.

Your ideas for where a practice like this could go.

If you are 7+ PQE and starting to think about whether your current firm gives you enough room to build the next stage of your career, speak to Neil Campbell at QED Legal.

I can talk you through the opportunity, the wider platform and why I think this could be a particularly strong fit for someone who wants to develop a serious landed estates practice in the North East.
