We're working with a brilliant, well-established UK law firm looking to add into their Risk & Compliance function, with a particular focus on professional negligence claims, professional indemnity insurance and client complaints.
This is a fabulous opportunity for a Solicitor, Professional Indemnity Lawyer or experienced legal risk professional looking to move into an internal law firm role, working closely with Partners and fee earners to manage claims, resolve complaints and reduce regulatory and reputational risk.
Perhaps you're currently working in Professional Indemnity or Professional Negligence Litigation and would be interested in moving away from fee earning?
The Role?
You'll have a particular focus on professional negligence claims, client complaints and professional indemnity matters, supporting the firm with:
- Managing professional negligence claims and potential claims against the firm.
- Investigating and responding to client complaints, ensuring compliance with the firm's internal procedures and SRA requirements.
- Liaising with Professional Indemnity Insurers, insurance brokers and external legal advisers.
- Supporting the handling of Legal Ombudsman complaints, investigations and enquiries.
- Working closely with Partners and fee earners to investigate claims, assess liability and identify appropriate resolutions.
- Advising on professional conduct, regulatory obligations and associated legal risks.
- Reviewing claims and complaints trends, identifying recurring issues and helping to reduce future exposure.
- Maintaining accurate claims records, complaints registers and management information.
- Supporting improvements to internal policies, procedures and risk management processes.
- Providing wider support across the firm's Risk & Compliance function where required.
About You?
We're keen to speak with Solicitors, Lawyers and Risk & Compliance professionals who have experience in professional indemnity, professional negligence, claims handling or complaints management.

You should have:
✓ Experience handling professional negligence claims, professional indemnity matters or client complaints.
✓ An understanding of professional liability, claims management and associated regulatory risks.
✓ Knowledge of the SRA Standards and Regulations and Legal Ombudsman complaints processes.
✓ Strong investigation, legal analysis and problem-solving skills.
✓ Confidence working closely with Partners, fee earners, insurers and senior stakeholders.
✓ Excellent drafting skills, particularly in relation to complaint responses, claims correspondence and reports.
✓ A pragmatic and commercially aware approach to managing legal and regulatory risk.
Experience within a law firm, professional indemnity team or professional negligence practice would be particularly relevant.
