Description
Real Estate Lawyer (Pensions) | 8PQE+ | £65k - £80k | Legal 500 | Bristol (WFH) | Relaxed Culture
I'm keen to speak with experienced commercial property lawyers/solicitors with a strong understanding of pension fund regulations, to join a highly regarded firm at a key moment of growth and succession planning.
A leading national law firm with a reputation for its open-door culture and focus on work/life balance is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its Bristol office. This is a permanent, full-time role with hybrid working (three days WFH) and the chance to run a varied caseload of high-quality pension scheme commercial property work.
You’ll report directly to the Head of the Pension Team (Real Estate), who is currently the sole fee earner, with dedicated legal support in place. This is very much a growth and succession hire, with a clear mid-to-long-term plan for the future leadership, development and workstream of the team.
The caseload will involve acquisitions of properties into pension schemes (by purchase or transfer in specie), leases, landlord and tenant matters, and sales and transfers out of schemes. You’ll act for a mix of individuals and major pension scheme providers with large portfolios, and work closely with a loyal client base.
You'll have at least 10+ years’ PQE (although ambitious 8+ PQE candidates eager to hit the ground running will also be considered). A strong technical understanding of commercial property work and pension fund regulations is essential - the latter is a deal-breaker for this position. Experience working with pension scheme providers and members is highly desirable.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys autonomy, isn’t driven by rigid KPIs, and wants to be part of a firm that values collaboration, growth, and progression. You’ll have the chance to shape the future of this niche offering and play a key role in developing new client relationships.
Salary is competitive DoE. The firm offers a generous benefits package including 34 days’ annual leave, a health cash plan, gym and lifestyle benefits, and clear routes to progression. The culture is relaxed and supportive, with hybrid flexibility, a focus on outcomes rather than targets, and plenty of space to grow.
