Description
If you’re a Commercial Property lawyer who wants to be right at the heart of Scotland’s most significant real estate deals — rather than watching them from the sidelines — this could be the move that properly accelerates your career.
I’m partnering with a top-tier Scottish firm whose Real Estate practice is widely viewed as the benchmark in the market. Year after year it sits at the top of the legal directories, but more importantly, it’s the team clients turn to for complex, high-value and business-critical property work. The scale, depth and reputation of the practice mean you’ll be operating at the sharp end of the Scottish property scene from day one.
They are looking to appoint a Solicitor or Senior Solicitor into a busy and ambitious team, with a strong emphasis on commercial acquisitions and disposals, leasing transactions and strategic land acquisitions for housebuilders. This is not a back-office support role — you’ll be front-facing, commercially involved and given the space to take ownership of matters in a fast-moving environment.
The client base is broad and impressive, spanning investors, developers, landlords and commercial occupiers. You’ll handle a mix of sales and purchases of commercial premises, negotiate and conclude leases, and play a key role in land assembly and acquisition work that underpins major residential developments. The work is varied, often high profile and always commercially driven.
You’ll also be encouraged to think beyond the transaction. Building strong relationships with clients and agents will be a central part of your role, positioning you as a trusted adviser. Business development isn’t an afterthought here — it’s something you’ll be supported and encouraged to get involved in, helping to shape the continued growth of a market-leading practice.
While you’ll have a defined focus, the size and breadth of the wider Real Estate group mean there will be plenty of opportunity to collaborate across different asset classes and projects. From investment portfolios to development schemes, you’ll gain exposure that keeps the work fresh and your skillset broad.
For a solicitor looking to combine quality work, genuine responsibility and the backing of Scotland’s largest and most recognised real estate team, this is a standout opportunity.
