Description

Professional Advocate Newcastle upon Tyne (travel across the North East)
Up to £45,000 DOE | Full-time, 37.5 hours per week - Flexi Time

A well-established North East legal business is looking to appoint an experienced Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX Lawyer to join their team as a Professional Advocate.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected organisation recognised nationally for its expertise in personal injury and accident management law. The firm has built an excellent reputation for client care and professional integrity and offers genuine opportunities for career progression.

The Role As a Professional Advocate, you’ll represent clients in hearings — particularly Fast Track trials —  in the County Court. You’ll prepare cases, conduct research, draft Skeleton Arguments and submissions, and develop effective cross-examinations to secure the best possible outcomes.

You’ll also provide guidance on technical and procedural matters to support colleagues across the wider team.

About You We’re looking for a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX Lawyer with, ideally, advocacy experience and a solid understanding of Civil Procedure Rules and relevant Pre-Action Protocols.

You’ll be commercially aware, confident under pressure, and able to manage your workload effectively. A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills are essential, as is a proactive, solutions-focused approach.

What’s on Offer - Competitive salary — up to £45,000 (DOE)
- 25 days’ holiday + bank holidays + your birthday off
- Option to buy/sell holidays
-  Flexible working hours & on-site parking
- Health and wellbeing support — including Virtual GP, discounted health checks, flu jabs & eye tests
- Corporate Metro & Bike to Work schemes
-  Active social calendar & annual charity fundraising events

Why Apply? This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious advocate who enjoys autonomy, variety, and high-quality work within a supportive and values-driven environment. You’ll join a business that truly invests in its people, values integrity and teamwork, and celebrates success at every level.

For more information, or to discuss the role further on a confidential/informal basis please reach out to Beth Livings at QED Legal.
