Description
If you enjoy Private Client work but want to be somewhere you can continue to develop your technical skills, build genuine relationships with your clients and have the support of an experienced team around you, this could be a really good opportunity.
This is a highly regarded Aberdeen private practice with a strong reputation in the North East and an established Private Client team. They pride themselves on delivering a high-quality, personal service to their clients and, just as importantly, creating an environment where people are supported and encouraged to develop their careers.
Due to continued growth, there is now an opportunity for a Private Client Solicitor to join the team.
What I particularly like about this role is that it isn't completely rigid in terms of level. The position can be shaped around your experience, so whether you're at an earlier stage in your Private Client career and looking for somewhere to really develop, or you already have broader experience and are ready to take on greater responsibility, I'd be very happy to have a conversation with you.
You'll work across a genuinely varied Private Client caseload including executries, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts, estate and succession planning and related tax matters.
Depending on your experience, you'll also have the opportunity to become involved in more technical work including the creation, administration and winding up of family and personal injury Trusts, charities and Inheritance Tax and wider capital tax planning.
Client relationships are a really important part of the role. You'll be encouraged to get to know your clients, understand what matters to them and provide clear, practical and supportive advice, often at important or difficult points in their lives.
You'll work alongside experienced colleagues who will be there to support you, but you'll also be encouraged to take increasing ownership of your work as your experience develops.
There is also plenty of opportunity to become involved in the wider development of the team through networking, client updates and business development. You don't need to arrive with a book of business; what matters is that you're interested in building relationships and developing your own profile over time.
I'm keen to speak with solicitors who already have some Private Client experience and who genuinely enjoy this area of law. You'll be organised, approachable and comfortable managing a varied workload, with strong attention to detail and, above all, a commitment to providing an excellent level of service to your clients.
For me, this opportunity will particularly appeal to someone who wants to build a long-term career in Private Client within an established Aberdeen team, where there is quality work, experienced people to learn from and genuine scope to develop.
