Legal Cashier ? Ilford | Full-time

A well-established Legal 500 law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join its busy finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and motivated professional to play a key role in the firm’s day-to-day financial operations.

Based in the Ilford office, you will work closely with an experienced finance team, managing a varied and rewarding workload in a fast-paced legal environment.

The Role Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing transactions on client and office accounts
  • Carrying out daily bank reconciliations
  • Managing incoming and outgoing payments, including BACS and CHAPS
  • Posting bills, disbursements, and write-offs
  • Liaising with solicitors, clients, and external organisations
  • Handling petty cash and staff expenses
  • Working closely with fee earners and external accountants
  • Supporting month-end and year-end financial reporting
  • Assisting with credit control and recovery of outstanding balances
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers
  • Ensuring full compliance with Solicitors’ Accounts Rules (SAR)

Skills & Experience The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm (essential)
  • Strong working knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in legal accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Legal Aid experience (desirable)
