Legal Assistant Commercial Property - Brighton
Full-Time | Mon to Fri, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Salary: £26,250 – £28,000 DOE

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and organised Legal Assistant to join a busy and supportive legal team. This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative skills, excellent attention to detail, and a genuine interest in developing their career within the legal sector.
Working in a fast-paced environment, you will provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support while helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the department.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Opening new client files and maintaining accurate client records
  • Carrying out Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance checks
  • Managing client onboarding processes and risk assessments
  • Handling incoming emails and telephone enquiries professionally
  • Monitoring deadlines and ensuring tasks are completed on time
  • Using the Land Registry portal to obtain documents and submit applications
  • Assisting with property completions and arranging payments
  • Supporting billing and invoicing processes
  • Digital audio typing and document production
  • Coordinating meetings and managing diaries
  • Scanning, post handling, filing and general office administration

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Friendly, professional and approachable
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicating with clients and third parties by phone and email
  • Able to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel and case management systems
  • Proactive, willing to learn and keen to take initiative

Previous experience within a legal environment is desirable, with experience in property law or conveyancing particularly advantageous. However, candidates with strong administrative experience and a willingness to learn will also be considered.
