Court of Protection Paralegal Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (Hybrid working available)
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Salary: Competitive + Bonus Scheme
Experience Level: Paralegal (experience in Court of Protection, Serious Injury, or Private Client preferred)

About the Role We’re seeking a Court of Protection Paralegal to support a expanding team and help continue providing outstanding service to clients who have suffered life-changing injuries.

You’ll work closely with the Professional Deputies, Neurotrauma and Personal Injury teams, as well as families, therapists, and other professionals. You’ll play a vital role in improving the lives of vulnerable individuals by providing clear, compassionate, and practical legal support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting clients with legal and administrative matters, including financial planning and lifestyle support
  • Attending clients in hospitals, care homes, or at home
  • Drafting court applications, letters, and documents in plain English
  • Preparing annual reports for the Office of the Public Guardian
  • Making regular payments and maintaining accurate financial records and forecasts
  • Assisting with legal advice under supervision
  • Instructing professionals to conduct assessments of capacity, care needs, or therapies
  • Reviewing financial documentation relating to client investments

About You This role is ideal for someone who is:

  • Empathetic and professional, with experience supporting people in sensitive or distressing circumstances
  • Highly organised, accurate, and able to manage a busy workload with confidence and care
  • team player who communicates clearly and effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Self-motivated with strong judgement and an understanding of when to seek support

Experience requirements:

  • Previous experience as a paralegal in any legal discipline is desirable
  • Experience in Court of ProtectionSerious InjuryNeurotrauma, or Private Client work is an advantage but not essential—full training will be provided
