Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Solicitor to join a highly regarded, growing corporate team at a leading UK law firm. The team advises an impressive range of clients, from entrepreneurs and owner-managed businesses to private equity funds, international investors and public companies, across a broad range of domestic and cross-border transactions. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor looking to develop their corporate expertise within a well-resourced team, working alongside experienced lawyers on high-quality transactions with access to specialist support, established know-how resources and innovative legal technology.

The Role You’ll work on a varied range of corporate matters, including acquisitions and disposals, mergers, investments, joint ventures, restructurings and shareholder agreements. The work will also involve corporate governance and international transactions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting, negotiating and reviewing transaction documents and ancillary agreements.
  • Coordinating and reviewing due diligence exercises.
  • Managing your own transactions and files, while supporting colleagues on larger and more complex matters.
  • Undertaking legal research and applying relevant company law principles.
  • Liaising directly with clients, intermediaries, other law firms and colleagues across the business.
  • Attending client meetings and contributing to business development, networking and pitches.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with specialist teams covering areas such as private equity, venture capital, reorganisations, capital markets and employee ownership trusts. Experience in these areas or in sectors such as energy, healthcare, food and drink or technology would be advantageous, but is not essential.

About You The firm is looking for a qualified Corporate Solicitor, typically with 2–6 years’ PQE, who has experience working on corporate transactions. Experience within a regional, national or City corporate team would be beneficial.

You’ll have a strong understanding of company law, sound commercial judgement and the ability to produce high-quality documentation. You should be comfortable managing your own workload, communicating directly with clients and working collaboratively with colleagues on complex transactions.

A proactive approach to business development, strong attention to detail and an understanding of financial performance, time recording and compliance requirements will also be important. The team is keen to hear from solicitors who are open to exploring new technologies, including AI, to improve efficiency and client service.

What’s on Offer The firm offers a supportive, collegiate environment with clear opportunities for career development and progression. You’ll benefit from working alongside an experienced corporate team with dedicated professional support, extensive legal resources and a focus on innovation.

The role also offers hybrid working, with flexibility around working patterns, including part-time arrangements where appropriate. Some additional office attendance may be required for client meetings, collaboration and deadlines.

The benefits package includes:

  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, with additional long-service leave.
  • Private healthcare through BUPA, subject to passing probation.
  • Pension scheme with 5% employer contributions.
  • Staff profit share and individual performance bonus schemes.
  • Life assurance at four times salary and permanent health insurance.
  • Paid corporate social responsibility day.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave.
  • Subsidised gym membership and electric car scheme
