Construction Solicitor/Associate Non-Contentious) Newcastle | 2+ PQE | Construction, Engineering & Projects

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Construction Solicitor (2+ PQE) to join one of the North East's leading commercial law firms.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a highly respected Construction, Engineering & Projects team, advising an impressive client base on a wide range of high-quality and complex non-contentious construction matters.

The Role You'll work closely with experienced Partners and Solicitors, advising developers, contractors, consultants, funders, investors and other key stakeholders on a broad range of construction and engineering projects across the UK and internationally.

Your work will include:

  • Drafting and negotiating construction contracts, including JCT and NEC forms
  • Advising on professional appointments and collateral warranties
  • Supporting clients on complex development and infrastructure projects
  • Building strong, long-term client relationships
  • Contributing to business development initiatives and helping to grow the practice

Whilst the focus of the role is non-contentious construction, candidates with a blend of contentious and non-contentious experience are also encouraged to apply.

About You You'll ideally have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' PQE in construction law
  • Strong experience advising on non-contentious construction matters
  • Experience drafting and negotiating JCT and NEC contracts, professional appointments and collateral warranties
  • Excellent drafting, communication and negotiation skills
  • Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to client advice
  • An interest in business development and building client relationships
  • A genuine desire to develop your career within a leading construction team
