Description
Senior Construction Lawyer – Senior Associate or Partner Appointment
Location: North East / Hybrid Working
Type: Partner or Senior Associate with Clear Partnership Trajectory
Salary: Market Leading + Full Partnership Package
I’m working on a confidential basis with a leading commercial law firm in the North East, which is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Construction Lawyer, ideally at Partner level.
This is a key strategic hire for a firm known for the quality of its client service, deep industry knowledge, and loyal client relationships. The construction and engineering sector is a priority area for the firm, with ongoing demand from a strong client base in both contentious and non-contentious matters.
The Opportunity You will be joining an established team that is well-regarded for advising developers, contractors, funders, consultants, and public sector clients on a full spectrum of construction law issues. The role offers:
- Access to a significant base of existing work from major regional and national clients
- The autonomy to lead and shape the construction offering within a collaborative and ambitious environment
- The ability to build on well-developed internal and external referral networks
- A highly supportive leadership team, with real investment in long-term growth
Whether your background leans toward contentious or non-contentious work—or a blend of both—this firm is open-minded and will shape the opportunity around the right individual.
About You
- A senior construction solicitor with substantial experience in private practice or in-house
- Ideally already a partner, or a senior associate/legal director seeking a clear and supported pathway to partnership
- Able to demonstrate commerciality, strong technical expertise, and the ability to build trusted relationships
- A client following is welcome but not essential—there is already work to step into, and your ability to strengthen and grow client relationships will be highly valued
Why Consider This Role?
- A rare and genuine opportunity to lead or significantly influence the firm’s construction practice
- A strong platform of existing clients and internal cross-referral channels
- An open, modern, and well-managed firm with a clear vision and growth strategy
- Real partnership prospects, if not at point of entry
This is a confidential appointment. If you are a construction lawyer considering a strategic move, I’d welcome a discreet conversation.
