Senior Conflicts Lawyer - US experience needed

I’m working with a fabulous leading international law firm looking to hire a Senior Conflicts Lawyer / Advisor into their global Risk & Compliance function as they continue to expand globally.

This is not a “box-ticking” conflicts role. It sits at the heart of business decision-making, balancing risk, regulation, and commercial strategy at a senior level.

The Role?
You’ll be an advisor to partners and senior stakeholders, handling complex, high-value conflicts and shaping how the firm approaches client relationships globally.

  • Leading complex conflicts assessments across clients, matters, and lateral hires
  • Advising partners on risk vs commercial opportunity (not just saying “no”)
  • Designing and implementing conflicts mitigation strategies (barriers, consents, structuring)
  • Acting as a senior escalation point for sensitive, high-stakes issues
  • Supporting global projects, policy development, and system improvements
  • Delivering practical, commercial training to lawyers and stakeholders
  • Mentoring junior team members and shaping team capability

About you?

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or equivalent
  • Strong experience in conflicts/risk / compliance within a law firm
  • Deep understanding of SRA rules & conflicts frameworks
  • Commercial mindset — able to enable business, not block it
  • Confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience with systems like Intapp / Elite is a plus
