Charities Lawyer Newcastle | 5+ PQE | Sports, Education & Charities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Charities Lawyer (5+ PQE) to join one of the North East's leading commercial law firms.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nationally recognised Sports, Education & Charities team, advising a diverse client base across the charity, not-for-profit, education and sports sectors on a wide range of complex and strategically important matters.

The Role Working as part of a highly regarded specialist team, you'll advise charities, educational institutions, sporting organisations and not-for-profit bodies on a broad spectrum of legal and governance matters, including:

  • Charity law and regulatory advice
  • Governance and constitutional matters
  • Charity Commission compliance
  • Mergers, collaborations and restructures
  • Trading and commercial agreements
  • Fundraising and regulatory issues
  • Day-to-day legal support to charity and not-for-profit clients

Alongside your technical work, you'll have the opportunity to build strong client relationships, contribute to business development initiatives and play an active role in the continued growth of this specialist practice.

About You You'll ideally have:

  • 5+ years' PQE with strong experience in charity law
  • A solid understanding of charity governance, constitutional and regulatory matters
  • Experience advising on mergers, restructures and commercial arrangements
  • Excellent drafting, communication and client management skills
  • A commercial and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
  • A genuine interest in business development and networking
  • Experience advising clients within the education and/or sports sectors would be advantageous but is not essential
