Description

Risk & Compliance Solicitor – Professional Indemnity, Claims & Complaints
 East Mids
 Hybrid working
Competitive salary

We're working with a brilliant, well-established UK law firm looking to add into their Risk & Compliance function, with a particular focus on professional negligence claims, professional indemnity insurance and client complaints.

You’ll work closely with the COLP and leadership team, with a particular focus on professional negligence claims, professional indemnity insurance and complex client complaints.

Perhaps you’re currently working in Professional Indemnity, Professional Negligence or Litigation and would be interested in moving away from fee earning? This could be a great opportunity to use that experience in an internal role and get involved in wider risk and compliance work.

The Role?

  • Investigating professional negligence claims and potential claims, reviewing files and assessing liability and exposure.
  • Managing complex client complaints from investigation through to resolution, working closely with Partners and fee earners.
  • Liaising with professional indemnity insurers and external solicitors and helping decide how to progress claims.
  • Advising the COLP and leadership team on legal risk, governance and client care.
  • Looking at what’s coming up across claims and complaints and where changes could help prevent the same issues happening again.

About You?

I’m keen to speak with experienced solicitors from a Professional Negligence, Professional Indemnity or Litigation background.

You might already be working in Risk & Compliance, or you might be a civil or commercial litigator who enjoys investigating what’s happened, assessing liability and working out the best way to resolve a dispute. If that sounds like the part of your job you enjoy most, I’d be keen to hear from you.

You’ll need to be comfortable handling sensitive matters, drafting clear responses and giving practical advice to Partners and senior colleagues.

What's in it for you?

A senior internal role where you can use your litigation experience and get involved in wider risk, compliance and governance work
The chance to work closely with the COLP and leadership team and have a say in how claims and complaints are handled
Full-time hours of 9am–5.15pm, Monday to Friday, with part-time considered
33 days’ annual leave inclusive of bank and public holidays, including birthday leave
Life assurance at three times salary, plus counselling, 24/7 GP access, physiotherapy, gym discounts and cashback benefits through the employee assistance programme
