Description

For someone who enjoys the more complex side of trust work, likes building strong relationships with clients and would welcome the opportunity to share their knowledge and experience with others, this could be a really interesting next step.

This is an opportunity to join an established and highly regarded Private Client team where you will have the freedom to manage your own portfolio of trusts, including private family and charitable trusts, whilst working alongside experienced and supportive colleagues.

The work is interesting and varied, and you will take responsibility for all aspects of trust administration, compliance, taxation and accounts, including complex and high-value trusts.

You will work closely with clients, trustees and beneficiaries, many of whom will be dealing with sensitive family and financial matters, so being able to build relationships and explain complex issues clearly and compassionately is important.

As well as managing your own workload, you will have the opportunity to support and mentor less experienced colleagues, sharing your knowledge and playing a part in the continued development of the team.

Ideally, you will already have experience managing a portfolio of trusts, including some complex or high-value matters, and have a good understanding of trust law, Income Tax, Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax and the associated compliance requirements.

You will be someone who is highly organised, confident dealing directly with clients and able to explain what can often be quite complex matters in a clear and straightforward way.

Experience of arranging and attending trustee meetings would be beneficial, as would STEP or ATT qualifications, although these are not essential.

What I particularly like about this opportunity is that it offers the chance to take real ownership of your work whilst still having the support of an experienced team around you.

A competitive salary, very generous benefits package and flexibility are all on offer. This role can be based in the central belt or Tayside.

If you would like to know more, please get in touch. All discussions will, of course, be completely confidential. Please reach out to me Deborah Collier at QED Legal on the details provided for more information.
