Not pigeonholed.

There is a big difference.

At NQ–5 PQE, you should still be broadening your experience, but you should also be starting to build a bit of identity around the work you are genuinely good at.
This is the sort of area where that can happen.

You can still handle varied commercial disputes, still develop as a rounded litigator, but gradually become the person clients and colleagues turn to when the dispute has a financial services angle.
That is a much stronger career proposition than simply getting better at carrying a bigger caseload.

For someone ambitious, commercially minded and technically strong, there are some very good options in the Scottish market right now.
