An excellent opportunity for a Solicitor or FCILEx with up to 4 years’ PQE to join the Court of Protection (Property & Affairs) team at an award-winning Legal 500 law firm with offices across the UK.
This is a fantastic role for a Court of Protection specialist seeking to manage a high-quality Property & Affairs caseload, contribute to department growth, and thrive in a supportive, collaborative environment that genuinely prioritizes client care and employee well-being.
The Role
You will undertake fee-earning work and make a profitable contribution to the Court of Protection Property & Affairs department. Working closely with colleagues, you will handle delegated work and manage general deputyship matters while delivering exceptional service in clear, user-friendly language.
The team places a strong emphasis on mutual support, and you will be backed to develop your technical skills and expand your professional network through tailored business development initiatives.
Your work is likely to include:
End-to-end management of Court of Protection Property & Affairs and deputyship matters
Conducting client matters with diligence, ensuring technical excellence and client care
Participating in business development through networking, article writing, and industry events
Accurate time recording, fee agreement, and billing in strict line with Court of Protection rules
Maintaining financial control, including taking funds on account for fees and disbursements
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Qualified Solicitor or FCILEx status with up to 4 years’ PQE gained within a COP P&A department
Proven ability to competently and proactively manage Court of Protection matters
Excellent communication, effective time management, and strong organizational skills
Self-motivation with the initiative to meet tight deadlines under minimal supervision
Passion for personal development and an ambition to progress within the firm

Following an initial office-based probation period in Reading, the role transitions to a flexible hybrid working pattern (minimum 3 days office-based).
