The Role
- Join a friendly, close-knit Accounts Team in a key position supporting the wider business.
- Work across a varied legal finance function, giving you the opportunity to broaden your existing experience.
- Maintain accurate financial records and process financial entries using Access Legal Fusion.
- Manage and maintain ledgers and assist with the smooth running of the firm's accounting processes.
- Take responsibility for month-end and year-end activities, including report preparation and distribution.
- Prepare VAT returns, quarterly partial exemption calculations, VAT2 forms and other HMRC payments.
- Complete bank statement and third-party supplier reconciliations.
- Undertake housekeeping of office credit and debtor balances.
- Manage billing activities and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
- Process electronic and cheque payments accurately and efficiently.
- Liaise occasionally with clients, directors, banks and other third parties.
- Complete electronic filing and associated accounts administration.
- Take ownership of your workload and ensure daily payment and monthly billing deadlines are achieved.

You
- Have at least two years' experience in a legal finance or legal cashiering environment, or can demonstrate equivalent relevant experience.
- Have an excellent eye for detail and take pride in producing accurate work.
- Are highly organised and comfortable managing competing priorities.
- Can plan your workload effectively and work confidently to deadlines.
- Are proactive, self-motivated and happy taking ownership of routine responsibilities without constant direction.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, clients and external contacts.
- Have a genuine desire to develop your technical knowledge and progress professionally.
- Have a good understanding of the SRA Accounts Rules and VAT principles.
- Possess strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and Word.
- Experience with Foxit PDF Editor would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of back-office reporting and SQL would be beneficial, although it is not essential.
