Description
I'm currently working with a well-established and highly regarded law firm in Oxfordshire that is looking to add a Residential Conveyancing Solicitor or Fee Earner at NQ–3 PQE to its team.
This is a particularly good opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of conveyancing but also wants genuine client contact and the opportunity to develop their expertise within a specialist lender-focused environment.
The role has a strong emphasis on mortgage and lender work, covering a varied caseload rather than purely straightforward residential transactions. You will work across first and second charge matters, lender-only and dual representation, as well as mortgages involving both individuals and companies.
What will you be doing? You'll be responsible for managing your own matters and providing clear, commercially aware advice to lender clients. This will include reviewing titles and conveyancing documentation, identifying potential risks and finding practical ways to resolve or mitigate them.
You'll also have regular contact with a wide range of people involved in each transaction — from borrowers, brokers and agents through to asset managers and other solicitors — so this would suit someone who enjoys the variety that comes with a busy conveyancing caseload.
There will also be opportunities to get involved in wider departmental work, including legal documentation, reporting, billing and case management.
The person they're looking for The key requirement is good-quality residential conveyancing experience, rather than simply a particular qualification.
Applications are welcomed from:
- Solicitors at NQ–3 PQE
- Experienced residential conveyancing fee earners
- Chartered Legal Executives
- Candidates who are part-qualified or working towards a relevant qualification
You'll need to be organised, commercially minded and comfortable working to deadlines, with the ability to spot issues without losing sight of the practical outcome for the client.
Just as importantly, you'll be joining a team environment, so a collaborative approach and willingness to adapt to changing workloads will be valued.
A little more about the opportunity The firm is well established within the Oxfordshire legal market and has built a strong reputation over many years. It offers a supportive working environment where there is scope to develop your technical knowledge and progress your career rather than simply managing a high-volume caseload.
Part-time and flexible working arrangements can be considered, so this could be worth exploring if you're looking for a role that offers a little more flexibility.
If you're an NQ–3 PQE conveyancing lawyer or experienced Fee Earner and would like to hear more, Taylor Sorensen at QED Legal would be happy to have a confidential conversation.
