Description

Business Immigration Associate / Senior Associate | Birmingham | £55,000 - £100,000 + Excellent Benefits | Legal 100 Firm

Are you looking for a role where collaboration isn't just encouraged but is genuinely at the heart of the way people work? Could your next move be with a Legal 100 firm that offers the quality of work and clients you'd expect from a leading commercial practice, without the traditional corporate feel?

This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded and expanding Business Immigration team in Birmingham, advising an impressive portfolio of organisations across healthcare, higher education and the wider commercial sector. With immigration law continually evolving through legislative reform, policy updates and changing workforce demands, you'll be joining a practice where no two days are the same and where your expertise will continue to grow alongside the ever-changing legal landscape.

Why This Firm?

If you're looking for a firm where you'll simply manage files, this probably isn't it.

This Legal 100 firm has built an outstanding reputation for delivering first-class legal advice whilst maintaining a culture that feels refreshingly different. Collaboration isn't a buzzword here. It's fundamental to the way people work. The open-door culture is embedded into the firm's DNA, creating an environment where partners are approachable, knowledge is shared freely and colleagues genuinely invest in one another's success.

You'll enjoy the calibre of work, clients and technical excellence associated with a leading commercial practice, but without the hierarchy and formality often found elsewhere. It's a place where relationships matter, ideas are welcomed and progression is based on ability, not office politics.

Business Immigration is one of the most dynamic areas of law, with Home Office policy, sponsor guidance and legislation continually evolving. That makes this an intellectually stimulating practice where you'll be challenged, supported and encouraged to become a trusted adviser to organisations navigating increasingly complex immigration issues.

Wouldn't it be refreshing to join a firm where asking questions, sharing ideas and learning from experienced colleagues is simply part of everyday life?

The Role

  • Advise employers on a broad range of business immigration matters, including Skilled Worker and other corporate immigration routes.
  • Manage Sponsor Licence applications and provide ongoing compliance advice.
  • Navigate the Sponsor Management System (SMS), including assigning Certificates of Sponsorship.
  • Conduct sponsor licence and right to work compliance audits.
  • Advise clients on UKVI compliance, enforcement matters and immigration risk management.
  • Support organisations with strategic workforce planning and international recruitment.
  • Assist with corporate transactions, including immigration due diligence.
  • Deliver commercially focused advice to organisations across healthcare, higher education and commercial sectors.
  • Build long-term client relationships while contributing to business development and the continued growth of the team.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across complementary practice areas to deliver joined-up legal advice.

You

  • Qualified Solicitor with at least 4 years' PQE specialising in Business Immigration.
  • Able to manage your own caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Sponsor Licences, Skilled Worker applications, right to work legislation and compliance.
  • Experience of immigration due diligence within corporate transactions would be advantageous.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to deliver practical, business-focused advice.
  • Confident building lasting client relationships and acting as a trusted adviser.
  • A collaborative approach and a genuine desire to contribute to a supportive team culture.
  • Enthusiastic about networking, business development and helping to grow a successful practice.
  • Ambitious and motivated by genuine long-term career progression.

Can you see yourself becoming the lawyer clients rely on to shape their international workforce strategy rather than simply processing applications?

Benefits

  • Salary between £55,000 and £100,000, depending on experience.
  • Hybrid working with genuine flexibility.
  • Minimum 25 days' annual leave, with the option to purchase additional leave.
  • Discretionary bonus scheme.
  • Generous pension contribution.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Private health assessments.
  • Life assurance.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Tailored learning and development programmes.
  • Clear and achievable progression opportunities.
  • A genuinely collaborative culture where people invest in each other's success.

If you're ready to join a Legal 100 firm where collaboration drives success, your expertise will be valued and your career can flourish within one of the UK's most progressive Business Immigration teams, I'd love to tell you more.

For a confidential discussion, contact Toby Ryan at QED Legal today. The right opportunity doesn't come around every day. This could be the one you've been waiting for.
