Housing Disrepair Solicitor
£40,000 – £60,000
Location: Whitefield, Greater Manchester

A fantastic opportunity for a Housing Disrepair Solicitor or experienced Fee Earner to join a well-established, long-standing law firm based in Whitefield.
This is a strong opportunity to become part of a respected practice with a growing litigation offering, working within a supportive team environment and handling a varied and interesting caseload. The firm has a solid reputation across Greater Manchester and is continuing to develop its housing disrepair and broader property litigation work, offering excellent long-term progression for the right individual.
This role would suit someone looking to step into a stable but ambitious firm where quality of work is strong, autonomy is encouraged, and there is clear scope to progress as the department expands.

The Role:
Managing a busy caseload of housing disrepair matters from initial instruction through to conclusion, ensuring all matters are progressed efficiently and in line with relevant protocols and court deadlines.
Preparing letters of claim, particulars of claim, defences (where applicable), witness statements, schedules of loss, and other key litigation documents.
Liaising with surveyors, environmental health officers, medical experts, and other professionals to obtain and review evidence, assess liability, and support quantum.
Negotiating with opposing parties including landlords and housing associations, attending hearings where required, and preparing comprehensive trial bundles.

The Individual:
Minimum 1 year PQE with fee-earning experience in housing disrepair or claimant civil litigation
Experience working under the Housing Conditions Pre-Action Protocol desirable
Strong working knowledge of CPR and litigation procedure
Confident using case management systems (e.g. Proclaim or similar)
Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a busy caseload independently
Strong communication skills when dealing with clients, experts, and opposing solicitors
