Description

Senior Associate – Employment | Newcastle upon Tyne - 5+PQE
International Law Firm

We are currently working on an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate to join a highly regarded Employment team in Newcastle.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading Employment, Pensions & Immigration practices, consistently recognised as top tier in the legal directories and acting for an impressive client base across the financial services, healthcare and wider commercial sectors.

The Newcastle team has built an outstanding reputation within the North East market and works closely with colleagues nationally on a broad range of high-quality contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

The role will involve:

  • Advising a broad range of employer clients on day-to-day employment law matters
  • Handling complex Employment Tribunal and High Court litigation, including discrimination, whistleblowing and breach of contract claims
  • Supporting on restructures, redundancy exercises and TUPE projects
  • Advising commercial and financial services sector clients
  • Supervising and supporting junior lawyers and trainees
  • Delivering client training and supporting business development initiatives
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a Senior Associate level lawyer, ideally 5+ PQE
  • Have strong contentious employment law experience
  • Ideally have experience advising financial services or multi-national clients
  • Be commercially minded and solutions-focused
  • Have excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Enjoy working collaboratively within a high-performing national team

This opportunity offers:

  • High-quality work with nationally recognised clients
  • Genuine progression opportunities within a growing Newcastle team
  • Strong client exposure and responsibility
  • Flexible and hybrid working
  • A collaborative and supportive culture with an excellent reputation in the market
