Are you an experienced Legal Secretary with a passion for supporting vulnerable clients and making a real difference in childcare law?
A well-established and forward-thinking law firm is seeking a Care Secretary to join its friendly Care team. Opportunities are available across offices in Huddersfield, South Elmsall, Barnsley, and Leeds.
The Role

You will provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support to Care Solicitors, helping to ensure excellent client care and smooth day-to-day case management within a busy legal environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Typing legal documents, court documents, correspondence, and file notes
• Preparing legal aid applications
• Opening and maintaining files on the case management system
• Handling client enquiries and telephone calls professionally
• Arranging appointments and meetings with clients and professionals
• Managing incoming emails and post
• Using digital dictation systems (BigHand)
• Preparing bundles and maintaining accurate billing records
• Supporting fee earners across the wider team
• Providing cover for colleagues when required
About You

The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous experience within a Care department or similar legal environment
• Strong typing and digital dictation skills
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• A professional and empathetic approach to client care
• The ability to prioritise workloads effectively
• A proactive and flexible attitude
