Senior leadership opportunity within a progressive, growing firm
A well-established and forward-thinking law firm is seeking a senior Commercial or Commercial Property solicitor to join as Head of Commercial & Commercial Property. This is a standout opportunity for an experienced practitioner who wants to shape, grow, and lead a key practice area while playing a meaningful role in the firm’s long-term strategy.
The role would suit someone already operating at a senior level, or a solicitor who is ready to step into departmental leadership for the first time and develop into a broader firm leader.
The role
This is a hands-on leadership position combining high-quality fee earning with genuine influence over the future direction of the Commercial and Commercial Property offering.
You will:
- Lead and develop the Commercial and Commercial Property teams
- Manage a varied and high-quality personal caseload
- Work closely with the Managing Director and wider leadership team
- Play a key role in business development and client relationships
- Contribute to board-level discussions and strategic planning
- Help shape the firm’s commercial strategy as it continues to grow
This is an office-based role, suited to someone who enjoys being fully involved in the life of the firm and its people.
The work
You will advise on a broad range of Commercial and Commercial Property matters, including:
- Commercial contracts and business advisory work
- Acquisitions, disposals, and refinancing
- Commercial leases and landlord and tenant matters
- Development and investment-related property work
About you
You will be:
- A qualified Solicitor in England and Wales
- 6+ years’ PQE with strong Commercial and/or Commercial Property experience
- Commercially minded and client focused
- Confident, approachable, and capable of leading others
- Someone who enjoys mentoring and building strong teams
- Motivated by the opportunity to grow into senior leadership
Previous experience managing or supervising others, along with evidence of business development or client growth, would be advantageous but is not essential.
