You'll be someone who has experience of litigated and pre litigated cases and ideally shall have good advocacy skills. Strong communication and negotiation skills are key to this role.
Typical responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities
- Caseload Management: Work collaboratively within a supportive team, managing a mix of pre-litigation and litigation cases.
- Court Work: Participate in hearings and proceedings in ASPIC, the Court of Session, and Sheriff Courts.
- Team Support: Contribute to the development of junior colleagues and trainees through mentoring and training.
- Investigations & Statements: Conduct liability investigations and obtain witness statements.
- Medical Expert Coordination: Instruct and liaise with medical experts to support case preparation.
- Legal Drafting: Prepare a range of legal documents, including Summonses and Writs.
- Court Representation: Consult with Counsel and represent clients during court appearances.
