Family Lawyer (3 PQE+) | Exeter | Legal 500 Firm | Private Family Focus | Career Progression 

A respected Legal 500 firm based in Exeter is looking to recruit a mid-level Solicitor/CILEx Lawyer to join their Family Department. This is an opportunity within a nationally recognised team offering full exposure to contentious and non-contentious private family work, with a strong emphasis on matrimonial finance.

The firm has seen rapid growth in recent years through strategic mergers and rebranding, operating across multiple Southwest offices. The Family Department is firmly established within the firm’s top-tier status, delivering high quality, client-centred advice. Consisting of around 10 fee earners including senior and junior solicitors, they handle the full spectrum of private family law. You will benefit from strong peer support within a broader commercial and private client team of over 35 lawyers.

In your day-to-day work you’ll manage your own caseload from the outset, attend client meetings, draft court documentation, negotiate settlements, and regularly liaise with financial advisors, barristers and other professionals. While the focus is on resolving asset division, pensions, maintenance and consent orders, it also encompasses children cases, cohabitation agreements, and adoption support. You’ll also be encouraged to play an active role in developing the team’s profile through networking and marketing initiatives.
