Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (with hybrid/agile working options)

A leading commercial law firm in the North East is seeking a skilled and motivated Construction Solicitor or Associate to join its dynamic Construction, Engineering and Projects Team. The Role
The successful candidate will join a well-established team working on a wide range of non-contentious construction matters. The team advises clients across the UK and internationally, including funders, developers, contractors, consultants, and sub-contractors on complex and high-value construction and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising on and negotiating standard form contracts (including NEC and JCT), professional appointments, collateral warranties, guarantees and bonds
  • Supporting clients through all stages of construction projects
  • Assisting with business development and building client relationships
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 3 years’ post-qualification experience in non-contentious construction law
  • Strong knowledge of industry-standard documentation (NEC, JCT, etc.)
  • A proactive, commercial approach with excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • An interest in developing their own practice and contributing to team growth
