NEW VACANCY Legal Receptionist | Full time position | Wiltshire
An exciting opportunity has opened up at the Salisbury office of a well-respected regional law firm, due to expansion, and I’m looking to speak with those interested in joining the team as a Receptionist. In this role, you’ll be supporting the smooth operation of the office by handling a variety of general administration and reception tasks. Working closely with the reception team, you’ll need to be proactive and show a genuine interest in every task that comes your way.
Your responsibilities will include handling general office administration, sorting incoming mail, collecting office mail trays from the fee earners, and taking them to reception for posting. You’ll also be responsible for deliveries to other solicitors, companies, or courts, photocopying, scanning, and filing documents. You’ll manage the daily banking for the Accounts department, handle the collation of files for archiving, log and book out deeds and wills, and assist with client ID and document certification. You’ll also collect and take the post to the post office every day.
You’ll also play a key role in keeping the office supplied, including checking and ordering stationery and kitchen/toilet supplies, topping up photocopiers with paper, and ordering toners for the copiers when needed. Your role will also involve reception cover, such as answering the phone, forwarding messages via email, checking voicemails, greeting clients, managing the diary for meeting rooms, arranging tea and coffee for meetings, and ensuring meeting rooms are tidy after use. You’ll also be responsible for taking card payments in person and handling any ad-hoc client enquiries that come into Reception.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need basic keyboard skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. The ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks is key, as are excellent telephone skills. You should be able to communicate clearly, take accurate messages, and forward them promptly.
The role also requires someone who is a quick learner, reliable, and able to work well with a variety of people. Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential, as is a high level of personal presentation.
In return, you’ll enjoy a full-time position with a competitive benefits package, including a company pension, employee discounts, and 33 days’ of holiday (earning up to 10 extra days for long service). The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 5:00pm.
