Residential Property PA, based in Surrey

My client are currently seeking a highly skilled and proactive PA to provide direct support to fee earner(s) within the Residential Property team, ensuring optimal efficiency in their operations.

This office-based role requires a commitment of 4 or 5 days per week, including Fridays.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in contributing to the team's dedication to client service and maintaining high standards of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team in upholding our core commitment to client service.
  • Assist in the creation, progression, and closure of matters using our case management and practice management systems.
  • Conduct data entry and prepare correspondence, including transcribing digital dictation.
  • Handle document preparation, completion statements, online form filing, and Land Registry forms.
  • Update workflows and provide assistance to the Residential Property department as needed.
  • Prepare completion statements and contribute to post-exchange and pre-completion formalities.
  • Undertake online form filling requirements, including SDLT forms.
  • Prepare and submit Land Registry forms (AP1, UN1, RX1, etc.).
  • Obtain information from local authorities and other organizations.
  • Manage registration and post-completion formalities.
  • Schedule appointments, arrange meetings, and maintain an up-to-date diary for fee earner(s).
  • Prepare and set up conference rooms for meetings, providing refreshments when required.
  • Support other secretaries and provide guidance to junior and temporary secretaries.
  • Uphold the team's commitment to high levels of attention to detail, quality, and accuracy.
  • Interact professionally with clients and third parties through various communication channels.
  • Contribute to the team's efficient and effective service levels.
  • Undertake specific training as required and exhibit a proactive approach to professional development.


  • Excellent speed typing skills.

Person Specification:
Essential Qualities:

  • Substantial previous legal secretarial experience, including a minimum of 2 years in residential property.
  • Advanced IT skills in relevant packages and exceptional speed typing skills.
  • Keen understanding of fee earner's work production.
  • High accuracy levels and a proactive work attitude.
  • Commitment to client service with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and handle workloads effectively.
  • Strong team collaboration skills.
  • Genuine interest in legal work and commitment to the firm.
  • High level of courtesy and respect in client, contact, and colleague interactions.
  • Willingness to take on additional tasks as required.

Desirable Skills:

  • Prior knowledge of Practice Evolve or other case management systems.
  • Knowledge of law/legal practice
