A leading commercial law firm with offices in Reading and across the region, is seeking a talented and motivated solicitor to join their esteemed employment law team in the Reading office. Renowned for consistently high ratings in the legal directories, their employment law team caters to a diverse clientele, from multinational companies to innovative startups.
Role Summary:
As an Employment Law Solicitor, you will play a vital role within the Reading-based employment team, situated in the heart of Reading. You will handle a varied and exciting workload, dealing with both contentious and non-contentious matters for Claimants and Respondents. Your responsibilities will encompass providing advice, drafting essential documentation, conducting negotiations, and advocating in tribunals. This role offers the opportunity to work with Partners & Associates while also independently managing cases. The firm encourage solicitors to undertake advocacy to gain comprehensive case insights, making previous tribunal and advocacy experience advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients by telephone, in person, and in writing, handling complex issues such as protected disclosure, discrimination, and equal pay.
- Manage employment tribunal claims from start to finish, including drafting, taking statements, strategy, merits, and advocacy where appropriate.
- Actively participate in business development initiatives, attending events, networking, supporting social media campaigns, and presenting webinars.
Key Attributes:
The successful candidate will possess strong technical capability, research skills, and demonstrable practical experience in employment law. A natural interest in business development, excellent time management, and organisational skills are essential. You should be adept at working independently and collaboratively, building strong teams.
