Court of Protection Associate -  Finance & Property - 4+PQE
Hybrid Working - Newcastle upon Tyne - Competitive Salary PLUS Bonus

One of the North East's leading firms is looking to grow their Court of Protection department further due to increased workstream. They are ideally seeking a Lawyer with 4+years PQE who can come in and hit the ground running with a Finance and Property based caseload.

This is an excellent progression opportunity for someone who is looking for that next step to Associate or Senior Associate (DOE).

The team's reputation is not only well regarded for the quality of service and care it provides to its clients, but also for the culture that has been created by the current team head. Not only will you be surrounded by some of the most talented COP lawyers in the North East, but you will also be working within an approachable, friendly and well organised environment.

In this role, the successful candidate would be working closely with the firm’s professional deputies, Neurotrauma and Personal Injury Department, clients and their close friends and family, alongside therapists and other professional advisors. Due to the majority of the workstream being internally referred, the work is of high quality and is consistent.

The team also benefits from a team of Paralegals who maintain daily contact with clients, enabling the department to offer the highest level of service, and maintain their fantastic reputation.

Your role will include the following, but additional tasks may be appropriate:

- Drafting applications to the Court of Protection
- Advising families regarding lay deputyship applications
- Drafting complex documents and witness statements
- Working with brain injured and vulnerable adults and children
- Leading meetings with clients and professionals, including best interest meetings, and managing complex negotiations
- Purchase of properties and adapting properties to meet clients’ needs
- Working collaboratively within large multi-disciplinary teams consisting of doctors, case managers, therapists, and architects
- Creating detailed budgets, cashflow management and forecasting and accurate record keeping
- Seeking and implementing independent financial advice
- Providing litigation support to, both internal and external, Neurotrauma and Personal Injury Solicitors
- Supervising and developing junior members of the team

You will have access to a hybrid working policy and will be offered a competitive salary with regular salary reviews yearly.

This is an opportunity which is likely to go quickly so if you are interested apply today or for a confidential chat to discuss the role in more detail please do reach out to Beth at QED Legal on the details provided.
