Corporate Lawyer – Modern, Flexible Non-Private Practice Role – Truly Different

West Yorkshire

I am working with a fantastic West Yorkshire business who have really grown over the last couple of years and are looking for a Corporate Lawyer to join their expanding team.

They work predominantly for SME's (with turnovers up to around £50m) and some larger global organisations. They have particular strength in the tech sector but do work across a broad range of areas

All the lawyers here have big firm experience and have worked at 'Big 6' and large national practices. All of those lawyers wanted a different place to call 'home' where there is less red tape, office politics, true flexible working, and less 'egos'.

What sets them apart from other commercial practices is how closely they work with their clients often forming a genuine extension to the board room - they love their lawyers to get out there and properly integrate with the clients they are working with, nobody is held back and no work is tucked away from other lawyers.

Nobody is siloed and you are encouraged to challenge and expand your skillset to provide the right solutions to the client.

As well as your 'run of the mill' private practice commercial advice they also have a subscription based external 'in-house' offering where they, in essence act as an extension of larger firms in-house teams, for example they provide this offering to a large global organisation with over 60,000 employees worldwide.

The firm are looking for a Corporate Lawyer ideally around 5 years + PQE who is comfortable handling a caseload of general corporate transactions and capable of running a deal.

Fit as much as PQE is important and those that ‘get’ the idea of doing law differently to the traditional private practice way and are open to that, will be the right sort of lawyer that the business is looking for.

They have genuine flexibility here too, not something knocked up of the back of the pandemic, they were doing it long before - drop offs for the kids, working from home a few days a week - they have been doing this since their inception.

There are no old-fashioned hierarchies here, everyone is approachable, there are no pointless titles, or ego’s – just lawyers who want to work hard and have some fun along the way.

This is a unique and unusual opportunity for the right lawyer and the firm will pay competitively to get the right person on board.

If you would like to hear more about this role and are ready to go against the grain of the way ‘traditional’ law works then get in touch with Graham Rawlinson at QED Legal for a confidential chat.
