The Corporate and Commercial team work across all sectors on a variety of commercial agreements and corporate transactions. They advise both UK and international clients on all aspects from structural changes or strategic alliances through to day-to-day business management, IP and data protection. Many of the current team have transferred from large city firms as they have recognised that the quality of work is of good comparison with perhaps a more collaborative, inclusive and generally what could be described as a more friendly working culture.

As a corporate solicitor in the Southampton office you will assist and advise on a broad range of matters relating to company law, private company mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and MBOs and MBIs, AIM flotations, takeovers and other public company work, commercial lending and security, financing and refinancing of businesses, joint ventures and investor/shareholders’ agreements, articles of association and other constitutional documents, demergers, company reconstructions and reorganisations.

Your clients will range from acquirers, private equity and VCT funds, founders/sellers, management teams and funders with the team having dealt with some very significant work and have an abundance of work hence the need for further expertise in the team. 

Experience of commercial work in addition to corporate would provide beneficial but is not essential to be considered for this position. You will maintain regular contact with and benefit from the supervision and support of existing partners and head of department ensuring your continued professional growth and development. There will also be ample opportunity to contribute and play and active role in further business development, marketing and networking opportunities.
